“Hey Dee! Huge fan! Here’s my situation:
I have BIG dreams. Lots of business ideas. I’m a risk-taker and not afraid to try something new. My wife on the other hand does not operate the same way. She’s a professional woman in business who finished college and did things “the right way”. I took a different path than the traditional way, and because of that, I have established some really crappy habits around actually achieving my goals.
For example, as soon as I get an idea, I tend to get excited and start the business, however, I don’t take the time to see if it’s a viable business model. I just go right in, get everyone excited about the idea and start moving on it. Most of these ideas don’t mature to anything and then I’m back at square one – and she’s looking at me with the side-eye – again….
Dee! How do I break my old habits? It is possible to break bad habits and reverse them into good habits?

as well as in business and there’s no doubt about that! However, being in business for yourself allows for much opportunity for you to expand and grow no matter what your gender.
This is a learning moment for sure.
So, first things first.
How awesome are you that you’re able to see and acknowledge not just one, but many problems within the marketplace, but also within yourself? AND, for wanting to solve both problems simply makes you amazing.
So let’s talk about Step One of the #FACTT Process – Form The Breakup!
You’ve decided to form a breakup with a Habit – specifically wanting to break the habit of starting businesses that do not mature into anything.
Now, we can get to “the how” shortly, but first, let me ask, “how open-minded would you be about trying an alternative way of perceiving your habits?”
For example, taking your daily habits that you feel are keeping you stagnant, repackaging the thought and feelings surrounding your habits, and repurposing them to work FOR YOU based on a new vision that you’ve created for yourself.
I’m not sure if it’s for you, but it’s a simple and therapeutic process to help further and develop yourself – while you’re on your journey – that new path of wherever success is taking you.
All habits are good habits, it’s all in the way they are perceived and used by you. However, with habits it’s all about mental, physical, and emotional control.
Which is why you have to BREAK UP with the habit first!
It has to happen in order for you to define what you want to replace your poorly perceived habit with.
I actually don’t see your current habit as a bad one.
You’ve done one thing really right…
And that’s your ability to be able to turn a thought or idea into something real.
Most people run from the very thought and never get that far.
Now, I will say that once you get your ideas, you might want to find another way of utilizing that startup energy – direct it in a different way before you begin to implement it.
For example, as a way to shift the direction of your current habit – you could join a Mastermind group for startup professionals like you. You can bounce your ideas off of other like-minded professionals such as yourself and maybe even find partners to help support your ideas.
If that doesn’t work for you then you can also build your own mastermind or networking group and do the same thing.
These are just a few ideas on what you can do to shift the energy around that specific habit.
